Rules and Guideleines for the Denver Wrestling Program

Cyclone Wrestling Guide
These guidelines are set and will be followed to help make us a better TEAM and you a better individual. If these rules are not followed then the consequences must be enforced. Please make an honest effort to not let down your team, coach, or self so that we can all be part of a winning team.

I. Eligibility
All eligibility rules and disciplines will be followed as outlined in our student handbook and the rules set forth by the IHSAA.

II. Classroom Behavior
You are to conduct yourself as gentlemen in all classes. You should be respectful of your peers, administrators, teachers, and facilities. We are a wrestling family and must remember to treat our teammates with respect in and out of the wrestling room.

A. All afternoon detentions will be treated as late arrivals to practice.(See missed practice below)

B. In-school suspension
#1= Ineligible for next meet.
#2= Dropped from squad. Refer to Student Handbook.

III. Missed Practice
You are expected to be at every practice and be on time unless your absence or tardiness is approved by Coach Krueger or Coach Hemann. Either call my home (984-6747) or call the Elementary (984-5611) and leave me a message, but do not tell a teammate; this is not exceptable. If you stay home sick or leave school early due to illness, please call or have a parent call, or this will be unexcused.

A. Late for practice (Unexcused- determined by coaches)
1st offense- 1 hall sprint for every minute late
2nd offense- 2 hall sprints for every minute late
3rd offense- Withheld from next competition

B. Missed practice
1st offense- Conditioning practice after regular practice
2nd offense- Withheld from next competition
3rd offense- Dropped from team

IV. Care and respect to locker rooms, equipment, and facilities
Any violations in these areas will be dealt with by the coach or supervisor at their discretion.

B. Bus Ride-(Must bring note from parents to ride home with them)
1. Be courteous to all wrestlers, coaches, managers, cheerleaders, etc. and especially the bus driver.
2. No loud and excessive noise on the ride to the meet. You should be mentally preparing yourself at this time.
C. Be respectful of other schools facility, property and personnel.
VI. Wrestling equipment
Singlets, warm-up pants, headgear, warm-up top, and bag will be issued to you at the beginning of the season. You are solely responsible for their cleaning and protection from theft. You will be charged for damage to these articles or in full for not returning them at the completion of the season. If you are in need of shoes, we can arrange to get some. If you still want a warm-up top you must order immediately. See Mr. Guenther about buying sweat bottoms.

VII. Meet conduct
Win or lose we will show good sportsmanship to our opponents, teammates, coaches, cheerleaders, managers, and fans. Also win or lose you MUST report to the coach on your mat and shake his hand and listen to instruction or you will run on the following days practice. Continued misconduct in this area will result in being withheld from competition or dismissed from the team.
